This is Inspired from a Irish sweater design Steve McQueen wore. We chose to head to the motherland to get some of the finest wool yarns from Donegal Ireland. These are made from 60% Fine Irish wool, 40% New Zealand  Wool. The colors are incredible as the texture.  I won't bother to try to explain the delicate and labor some process of spinning this yarn so instead please watch this video to hear it directly from the craftsmen at the Mill in the local Donegal brogue.  

Donegal Yarns is nestled between the hills of southwest Donegal on the coast of the Wild Atlantic Way. Our mill can trace its heritage to the early tradition of hand spinning, which dates back centuries. Irish tweed yarns were spun, woven and knitted in local homes.

About a century ago these traditional natural fibre products were introduced on the international markets and since then ‘The Genuine Donegal Tweed’ has earned world-renowned recognition.

The full production process and distribution takes place at our Donegal woollen mill in the village of Kilcar, which has a long history of industrial textile manufacturing.
